Nigeria develops in the recent years very rapidly. Its requirement for infrastructure construction is strong and keeps rocketing. Meanwhile privatization is in process to increase efficiency. In the end of 2010, National Council on Privatization (NCP) drives the privatization of 11 electricity distribution centers, 4 thermal power generating companies, and 2 hydro power generating companies. These projects now are open for global bidding. Our partner Austen-Peters & Co., a famous law firm in Nigeria, entrusted us to identify capable Chinese companies to enter the global bid with the help of JL Consulting and Austen-Peters & Co. Ltd who enjoys privileged and solid relations with the local government.
After we were entrusted in January 2011, we began analysis and risk assessment of these projects immediately. Among the projects of 11 electricity distribution centers and 6 power generating companies, we have identified 6 projects fitting Chinese companies and prepared teasers accordingly. During the four months since January, we have contacted almost all leading hydro or thermal power companies in China through our network. Finally 2 of them sent their Expresses of Interest. |
